🧄 Ingredients

2 cups broccoli florets (medium-sized)

1 tsp oil (mustard oil or any neutral oil)

½ tsp cumin seeds

½ tsp mustard seeds (optional)

2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

1 small onion, thinly sliced (optional)

¼ tsp turmeric powder

½ tsp red chilli powder (adjust to taste)

Salt to taste

1 tsp lemon juice (or amchur)

Fresh coriander (optional)


👩‍🍳 Method


1, Prep broccoli:

Wash and blanch broccoli in hot salted water for 2 minutes. Drain immediately (keeps it green and crunchy).


2,Temper:

Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin and mustard seeds. Let them splutter.


3,Aromatics:

Add garlic (and onion if using). Sauté till light golden.


4,Cook broccoli:

Add broccoli, turmeric, salt. Mix well.

Cover and cook on low for 5–7 minutes, stirring once or twice.


5,Finish:

Add red chilli powder. Switch off heat.

Sprinkle lemon juice and mix.


6,Garnish:

Add coriander if you like.


🌶️ Healthy Variations


South Indian style: Add curry leaves + a little grated coconut at the end

Protein boost: Toss in boiled chana or peanuts

No-onion version: Skip onion, add hing (asafoetida)

Extra crunch: Sprinkle roasted sesame seeds
