Certainly! Here's a recipe for Chili Fish Curry:

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams fish fillets (any firm white fish like tilapia or snapper)
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the fish fillets under cold water, pat them dry with a paper towel, and cut them into medium-sized pieces. Sprinkle some salt and turmeric powder over the fish pieces and set aside.

  2. Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it becomes golden brown.

  3. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and green chilies to the skillet. Sauté for another minute until the raw smell of garlic disappears.

  4. Add the chopped tomatoes to the skillet and cook until they become soft and mushy.

  5. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt to the skillet. Stir well to combine the spices with the onion-tomato mixture.

  6. Gently place the fish pieces into the skillet, ensuring they are coated well with the spice mixture. Cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the fish to absorb the flavors.

  7. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let the fish simmer in the curry for another 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and tender.

  8. Sprinkle garam masala over the curry and give it a gentle stir. Cook for an additional minute to allow the flavors to meld together.

  9. Remove the skillet from the heat and garnish the chili fish curry with fresh cilantro leaves.

  10. Serve the chili fish curry hot with steamed rice or naan bread. Squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the curry for an extra tangy flavor if desired.

Enjoy your flavorful Chili Fish Curry!
