Ingredients:

  • 200 grams mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell goes away.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.
  6. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a couple of minutes.
  7. Add sliced mushrooms and green peas. Mix everything together. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms and peas are slightly tender.
  8. Add slit green chilies and garam masala powder. Stir fry for a few more minutes to allow the flavors to blend together.
  9. If the mixture appears dry, you can add a little water to adjust the consistency.
  10. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring the mushrooms and peas are fully cooked.
  11. Finally, garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves and remove from heat.
  12. Serve hot with roti, naan, or rice.
