Til ke Ladoo

Sure! Here's a recipe for Til (Sesame) Ladoo:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sesame seeds (white or black)
  • 1 cup jaggery (or brown sugar)
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, or any nuts of your choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Ghee (clarified butter) for greasing your hands

Instructions:

  1. Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan over medium heat until they turn light golden brown. Stir continuously to prevent burning. Once roasted, remove them from the pan and set aside to cool.

  2. In the same pan, roast the grated coconut (if using) until it turns slightly golden and fragrant. Remove from the pan and set aside.

  3. In a blender or food processor, grind the roasted sesame seeds to a coarse powder. Leave some seeds whole for texture, or grind them finely if you prefer a smoother texture.

  4. In a separate pan, heat the jaggery (or brown sugar) on low heat until it melts and forms a syrup. If using jaggery, you may need to add a little water to help it dissolve.

  5. Once the jaggery syrup is ready, add the ground sesame seeds, roasted coconut (if using), chopped nuts, and cardamom powder to the pan. Mix everything together until well combined.

  6. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly until it's comfortable to handle.

  7. Grease your hands with ghee and take a small portion of the mixture in your hands. Shape it into a small round ball or ladoo. Repeat the process with the remaining mixture.

  8. Place the prepared til ladoos on a plate or in an airtight container and let them cool completely. The ladoos will firm up as they cool.

  9. Once cooled, store the til ladoos in an airtight container. They can be kept at room temperature for about a week.

Enjoy the delicious Til Ladoos as a sweet treat or during festive occasions. They are rich in flavor and have a lovely nutty taste from the sesame seeds.
