How to prepare Garlicky Greek Chicken

Ingredients:

  • > 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • > 4 cloves of garlic, minced

  • > 1 lemon, juiced and zested

  • > 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • > 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • > 1 teaspoon dried thyme

  • > 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

  • > Salt and pepper to taste

  • > Greek yogurt and fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. 1. In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, lemon juice and zest, olive oil, dried oregano, dried thyme, dried rosemary, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.

  2. 2. Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, making sure each breast is coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.

  3. 3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.

  4. 4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.

  5. 5. Grill the chicken breasts for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C). The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts, so adjust accordingly.

  6. 6. Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.

  7. 7. Slice the chicken breasts diagonally into strips or serve them whole. Garnish with a dollop of Greek yogurt and fresh herbs if desired.

  8. 8. Serve the Garlicky Greek Chicken with a side of Greek salad, roasted vegetables, or rice pilaf. Enjoy!

Note: If you don't have access to a grill, you can also cook the chicken in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.
