Honey Walnut Prawns - Prawn Recipes
Ingredients:
For the Prawns:
➤250g (about 8.8 oz) large prawns, peeled and deveined
➤1/2 cup cornstarch
➤Salt and black pepper to taste
➤Oil for frying
For the Honey Walnut Sauce:
➤1/4 cup mayonnaise
➤2 tablespoons honey
➤1 tablespoon condensed milk
➤1 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped
➤1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
➤Sliced green onions (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Prawns:
➦ Pat dry the prawns with paper towels. Season with salt and black pepper.
➦ Coat the prawns in cornstarch, shaking off any excess.
➦ Heat oil in a deep frying pan or wok to around 180°C (350°F).
➦ Fry the prawns in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
2. Make the Honey Walnut Sauce:
➦ In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, honey, and condensed milk. Mix until well combined and smooth.
➦ Add the toasted and chopped walnuts to the sauce and stir to coat them evenly.
3. Combine the Prawns and Sauce:
➦ In a large mixing bowl, gently toss the fried prawns with the honey walnut sauce until they are well coated.
4. Serve:
➦ Transfer the coated prawns to a serving plate.
➦ Sprinkle sesame seeds over the prawns for extra flavor and a nice crunch (optional).
➦ Garnish with sliced green onions.
5. Enjoy:
➦ Serve the honey walnut prawns as a delightful appetizer or main dish. They can be served on their own or with steamed rice for a complete meal.
Note: Be cautious while frying the prawns, as they can cook quickly. Make sure the oil is at the right temperature to achieve a crispy texture. Additionally, you can adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less honey, according to your preference.
This recipe combines the sweetness of honey, the creaminess of mayonnaise, and the crunchiness of toasted walnuts to create a delicious and indulgent dish. Enjoy your homemade honey walnut prawns!
