Ingredients:

For the Pork:

➤3-4 pounds (1.4-1.8 kg) boneless pork shoulder or pork butt

➤2 teaspoons salt

➤1 teaspoon black pepper

➤1 teaspoon smoked paprika

➤1 teaspoon garlic powder

➤1 teaspoon onion powder

➤1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

➤1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth

For the BBQ Sauce (optional):

➤1 cup ketchup

➤1/2 cup brown sugar

➤1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

➤2 tablespoons molasses

➤1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

➤1 teaspoon smoked paprika

➤1 teaspoon garlic powder

➤1/2 teaspoon onion powder

➤Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Pork:

➔Trim excess fat from the pork shoulder, but leave some for flavor and moisture.

➔In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder,        and cayenne pepper.

➔Rub the spice mixture evenly over the pork shoulder, ensuring it's well coated.

2. Sear the Pork (optional):

➔While not necessary, searing the pork in a hot skillet for a few minutes on each side before slow-            cooking can add extra flavor. Use a little oil in the skillet and sear until it's nicely browned.

3. Prepare the Slow Cooker:

➔Place the seared or unseared pork shoulder in the slow cooker.

➔Pour the chicken or vegetable broth over the pork.

4. Cook the Pork:

➔Set the slow cooker to low heat and cook the pork for 8-10 hours, or until the meat is tender and              easily shreds with a fork. Cooking times may vary depending on the size of your pork shoulder and        your slow cooker.

5. Make the BBQ Sauce (optional):

➔In a separate saucepan, combine all the BBQ sauce ingredients (ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider          vinegar, molasses, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper).

➔Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.

6. Shred the Pork:

➔Once the pork is done cooking, remove it from the slow cooker and place it on a cutting board.

➔Use two forks to shred the pork into small pieces.

7. Add the BBQ Sauce (optional):

➔If you made the BBQ sauce, you can mix some of it into the shredded pork to taste. Reserve some          sauce for serving.

8. Serve:

➔Serve the pulled pork on hamburger buns or rolls.

➔You can also serve it with coleslaw, pickles, or additional BBQ sauce on the side.

Enjoy your homemade slow-cooker pulled pork! It's perfect for sandwiches, tacos, or simply served with your favorite sides.
