Ingredients:
For the Dough:
➤2 cups whole wheat flour
➤Water (as needed)
➤Salt to taste
For the Filling:
➤2 cups finely shredded cabbage
➤1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
➤1-2 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust according to your spice preference)
➤1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
➤1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
➤1 teaspoon coriander powder
➤1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
➤1/2 teaspoon garam masala
➤Salt to taste
➤Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (optional)
➤Cooking oil or ghee for cooking
Instructions:
For the Dough:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour and salt.
2. Gradually add water and knead the mixture into a soft, pliable dough. Cover and let it rest for at least 15-20 minutes.
For the Filling:
1. Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat.
2. Add chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until onions become translucent.
3. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
4. Add shredded cabbage, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and garam masala. Mix well.
5. Cook the cabbage mixture until it becomes tender and most of the moisture evaporates. Stir occasionally.
6. Add salt to taste and chopped fresh coriander leaves. Mix well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
Assembling and Cooking:
1. Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.
2. Roll each ball into a small disc (like a chapati) and place a spoonful of the cabbage filling in the center.
3. Bring the edges of the dough together to seal the filling inside. Flatten the stuffed ball gently.
4. Roll out the stuffed ball into a paratha, dusting with flour as needed to prevent sticking.
5. Heat a griddle or flat pan over medium heat. Place the rolled paratha on the hot surface.
6. Cook on both sides, applying oil or ghee, until golden brown spots appear.
7. Repeat the process for the remaining dough balls.
8. Serve hot Cabbage Parathas with yogurt, pickles, or your favorite condiments.
Enjoy your delicious and nutritious Cabbage Parathas!
