 "Dilpasand" is a popular South Asian sweet pastry that is enjoyed for its delicious flavor and flaky texture. Here's a simple recipe for making Dilpasand at home:

Ingredients:


For the Dough:

➤2 cups all-purpose flour

➤1/4 cup semolina (sooji)

➤1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)

➤1/4 cup yogurt

➤Water, as needed

➤A pinch of salt


For the Filling:

➤1 cup desiccated coconut

➤1/2 cup powdered sugar

➤1/4 cup chopped mixed nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios)

➤2 tablespoons tutti-frutti (candied fruits)

➤1 teaspoon cardamom powder


For Assembly:

➤Ghee, for brushing

➤Some more chopped nuts for garnish



Instructions:


1. Prepare the Dough:

➤In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, semolina, ghee, yogurt, and a pinch of salt.

➤Gradually add water and knead the mixture to form a soft and smooth dough.

➤Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes.



2. Prepare the Filling:

➤In another bowl, mix together desiccated coconut, powdered sugar, chopped mixed nuts, tutti-frutti,        and cardamom powder. Set aside.



3. Assemble the Dilpasand:

➤Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).

➤Divide the dough into equal-sized balls.

➤Roll out each ball into a small disc, like a poori.

➤Place a generous amount of the prepared filling in the center of the disc.

➤Fold the edges of the disc to seal the filling and form a square or rectangular shape.

➤Place the sealed side down on a baking sheet.

➤Repeat the process for the remaining dough and filling.



4. Bake:

➤Brush the tops of the dilpasand with ghee for a golden finish.

➤Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.


5. Garnish:

➤Once out of the oven, garnish with additional chopped nuts while the dilpasand are still warm.


6. Serve:

➤Allow them to cool slightly before serving.
