Ingredients:

➤1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas (also known as garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed

➤1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste)

➤1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1 large lemon)

➤2 cloves garlic, minced

➤2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, plus more for serving

➤1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

➤Salt, to taste

➤2-4 tablespoons water, as needed

➤Optional toppings: paprika, chopped fresh parsley, toasted pine nuts, drizzle of olive oil

Instructions:

1. In a food processor, combine the drained and rinsed chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic,         olive oil, ground cumin, and a pinch of salt.

2. Blend the ingredients until smooth. If the mixture seems too thick, you can add 2-4 tablespoons of          water gradually until you reach your desired consistency.

3. Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning as needed. Add more salt or lemon juice if desired.

4. Transfer the hummus to a serving dish. Use a spoon to create a swirl on the surface and drizzle with        a  little extra virgin olive oil.

5. If desired, sprinkle some paprika, chopped fresh parsley, or toasted pine nuts on top for garnish.

6. Serve the homemade hummus with pita bread, crackers, sliced vegetables, or use it as a spread in            sandwiches or wraps.

7. Store any leftover hummus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Enjoy your homemade hummus as a healthy and tasty snack or appetizer!
